Irwin Mark Jacobs, PhD
CEO & Chairman of the Board
Dr. Irwin M. Jacobs is the co-founder and founding chairman and CEO of Qualcomm, which he led from a startup to a Fortune 500 company. At Qualcomm, he spearheaded the development of CDMA wireless technology, which became the foundational basis for all 3G cellular networks worldwide. Prior to Qualcomm, Dr. Jacobs co-founded LINKABIT Corporation, a pioneering telecommunications company that developed industry-standard technologies like the VideoCipher® satellite-to-home TV system. His distinguished career also includes serving as a professor of engineering at MIT and UC San Diego.
As co-founder, Principal Investor, CEO, and Board Chair of Xzōm, Dr. Jacobs now applies his visionary leadership to the challenge of transforming early disease detection. He is a recipient of several industry, education, and business awards, including the National Medal of Technology, awarded for his development of CDMA, and the prestigious IEEE Medal of Honor. Dr. Jacobs earned his Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering from Cornell University, and his Master of Science and Doctor of Science degrees, both in Electrical Engineering, from MIT.
Adam Jacobs
President
Adam Jacobs is a seasoned biotech executive and multi-sector entrepreneur with over 15 years of leadership experience building mission-driven organizations. As President of Xzōm, he leads corporate strategy, operations, and investor engagement, focusing on translating novel science into real-world solutions. He previously co-founded ventures including Fortis Fitness & YOGALUX and The Jacobs Scheriff Group, an advisory and investment firm focused on growth-stage companies. Jacobs holds a Bachelor of Science in Applied Economics and Management from Cornell University, where he also served as starting catcher and captain of the baseball team, before playing professional baseball through the United States and Australia.
Rob Turner
CTO
Rob is a hands-on technical leader with 10+ years of experience in life sciences and IVD product development. As CTO at Xzōm, he leads the design and development of the company’s breakthrough Alternating Current Electrokinetics (ACE) technology and exosome-based assays. With multiple patents and a background in Bioengineering at UC San Diego, Turner is passionate about transforming cutting-edge research into real-world solutions for early disease detection.
Janet Wickens
COO
Janet Wickens brings 20 years of executive leadership experience building organizations from inception through acquisition. As COO at Xzōm, she leverages her expertise in creating robust business operations infrastructure. Previously, she was the Chief People Office at Biological Dynamics, Inc. As the VP of HR at Navican, Inc. she contributed to a successful company launch and transition to Intermountain Healthcare. Wickens spent 10 years in successive leaderships positions at ID Analytics, culminating in a successful acquisition by LifeLock. She holds a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from the University of Great Falls and is a graduate of the UCSD HR Leadership program.
Philip Ginsburg, MD
Senior Regulatory Advisor
Dr Philip Ginsburg is a physician and clinical pathologist, sub-specialized in immunology and medical microbiology. As SVP at Xzōm, he leads Medical, Clinical and Regulatory Affairs, bringing a track record of success in medical device innovation, assay development, and regulatory approvals for oncology and infectious disease diagnostic products. Previously, he provided medical leadership for the development and commercialization of Abbott’s multibillion-dollar COVID-19 tests, POC products, and various clinical laboratory instrumentation platforms. Dr. Ginsburg’s extensive career also includes founding a precision medicine startup and a CLIA certified laboratory, which he later sold to a public company where he served as Chief Medical Officer.
JP Hinestrosa, PhD
VP of Research and Data Sciences
Dr. JP Hinestrosa is a scientist and innovator specializing in biomarker discovery, fundamental understanding, and data sciences. At Xzōm, he leads the research efforts for enhancing the platform to improve mulit-omic analytics. Dr. Hinestrosa holds a PhD in Chemical & Biomolecular Engineering from Clemson University and completed postdoctoral appointments at Oak Ridge National Laboratory and the EPFL in Switzerland.
Harmeet Dhani, M.D.

Medical Director
Dr. Harmeet Dhani serves as the Medical Director at Xzōm, where he leads clinical, medical affairs, and operations while serving as the Principal Investigator for the ExoLuminate clinical study. A surgeon-physician and biotech leader, he has held key roles at Natera and Biological Dynamics, advancing liquid biopsy technologies for MRD and early cancer detection. He earned his MD from St. George’s University, and MSc in Clinical Research and Development and an Executive MBA from UCSD and completed specialty training in abdominal transplant & hepatopancreatobiliary (HPB) surgery at MedStar Georgetown University.
Jarrod Panza
Strategic Advisor
Jarrod Panza is a seasoned executive in the life sciences industry with a 20-year career helping growth-stage companies achieve commercial success and execute on strategic parnerships. His experience includes serving as Head of Corporate Development & Legal at Roswell Biotechnologies, Executive Vice President of Corporate Development and General Counsel at Accumen, Inc., and Head of Corporate Legal at the medical device company NuVasive. He also held the role of Senior Corporate Counsel of Governance, Securities and M&A at LIFE Technologies through its acquisition by Thermo Fisher Scientific. Panza has served as a Strategic Business advisor to the Hydrafacial Company through its IPO and Mesa Biotech during its integration into Thermo Fisher Scientific.
